Gladys V. (Silk) Grove

FELTON – Gladys V. (Silk) Grove, 95, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Manor Care – Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Martin S. Grove. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with The Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cross Roads Cemetery. Born July 29, 1917 in Gettysburg, a daughter of the late John and Hilda (Stahl) Silk, she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Grove is survived by a daughter, Betty A. Orwig of Stewartstown; two sons, Robert C. and wife Wilhelmina Grove of Felton and James M. Grove and companion Phyllis Crook of York; 10 grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, Donald Silk of York and Roscoe Silk of Florida; and three sisters, Betty Knopp of York, Ethel Murphy of York, and Henrietta Watt of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a son, William Grove; three stepsons, Martin, George, and Miller Grove; and a stepdaughter, Emily Brenneman. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
