Gladys M. Moore

YORK- Gladys M. (Wright) Moore, 95 of York Township, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert Moore.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 219 S. Beaver Street in York with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Father Stephen Kelley will be officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mrs. Moore was born in Lancaster on June 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Samuel Wright, Sr. and Ozella (Wilson) Timmons. She retired from Caterpillar in York.

Mrs. Moore was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in York. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star#56 Prince Hall. She attended McCaskey High School in Lancaster. She enjoyed shopping and traveling with her husband.

Mrs. Moore leaves two daughters, Dawn Wright and Tamara Myers, both of York; five grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and eight great, great grandchildren; as well as a nephew she raised as a son, Michael Wright and his wife Nancy of York, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Day; two sisters, Naomi Wright and Dolores Shelton; and two brothers, Elmer Wright and Samuel Wright, Jr.
