Geraldine L. (Hengst) Keener

YORK-Geraldine L. (Hengst) Keener, 76, died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas R. Keener. A service will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Salem United Church of Christ, 24 Franklin St., in Jacobus, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. at the church. The Reverend Thomas E. Beck will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Blymire's U.C.C. Cemetery in Dallastown. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Keener was born in York on January 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary E. (Shearer) Hengst. She was a long time employee of the York Bank and a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Jacobus. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and feeding and watching birds.
