RED LION- Gerald E. Grim, 76, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Flinchbaugh) Grim to whom he was married for 52 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1155 Felton Road, Red Lion with his pastor, the Rev. James C. House officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Cemetery with full military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Grim was born on July 9, 1932 in York a son of the late Charles and Lillian (Slenker) Grim. He was a 1950 graduate from William Penn Senior High School and retired from Voith Transmissions. Mr. Grim was a longtime member at Zion U.M. Church and a dedicated member of the choir. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Grim is survived by a son, Mark L. Grim of Brandywine, MD; three daughters, Lisa A. and husband Terry Ohrum of Dillsburg, Lori J. and husband Jeffrey Schaefer of Red Lion, and Melia J. and husband Yuan Chang of Damascus, MD; two grandchildren, Courtney Schaefer and Nicole Grim; two step-grandchildren, Jason Ohrum and Jessica Greeney; three step-great grandchildren, Paige and Tori Greeney, and Jacob Ohrum; and a nephew, Leonard Grim, II of Sequim, Washington. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle R. Schaefer; and a brother, Leonard Grim. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion U. M.
