Georgiana (Sachs) Weber

YORK- Georgiana (Sachs) Weber, 89, of York Township died peacefully, early Sunday morning, March 9, 2008 at Rest Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her loving son by her side. She was the wife of Kurt W. Weber. The couple was preparing to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Weber was born in rural New Jersey on September 11, 1918 to the late George and Bertha (Kemp) Sachs. Georgia was a graduate of Jamaica High School, in Jamaica, NY. On December 18, 1941 she received her certification as a Registered Nurse from Queens County, New York and immediately began working as a civilian nurse for the US Armed Forces. After moving to York in 1953 Georgia became active in the league of Women Voters and volunteered time to help Margaret Moul with her efforts on behalf of children with Cerebral Palsy. Georgia is survived by her devoted husband Kurt W. Weber of York, her loving son Kurt R. Weber and his wife Sue Ann Weber of York, and two granddaughters: Lauran and Elizabeth Weber. After cremation, Georgia's ashes will be spread over the waters of the Long Island Sound, where in her youth she enjoyed boating and swimming with her mother, father, husband and friends. The Lord has called home a true blessing to this world. Georgia's grace, humility and genuine concern for friends and strangers alike will be missed. Memorial contributions may be made to Margaret Moul Home, 2050 Barley Rd., York, PA 17408. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements.
