George Robert "Bob" Norton

YOE - George Robert “Bob” Norton, 81, of Yoe passed on Saturday, June 18, 2022 following a long illness. He was born on January 4, 1941 in Monkton, MD to the late George Henry and Catherine Elizabeth (Lacey) Norton. He was married to Connie Lee (Smith) for 51 years. George drove truck for Consolidated Freight for 36 years, boasting a flawless safety record. He was a longtime parishioner at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dallastown. A life-long outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his beloved Sullivan County. He loved to travel, and was known for his epic road trips to visit many National Parks. He was a 1959 graduate of Hereford High School and proudly served in the US Army following graduation. Bob is survived by his wife, Connie; children Carol (David) Gillmen, Cathy (Chris) Cavanaugh, and Bob (Cindy) Norton; and grandchildren Emily, Ethan, Meghan, Sarah, Christina, Bill, and Jessica. Bob is survived by his siblings and their spouses: William & Norma Jean Norton, Mary & John McGinnis, Theodore & Sharon Norton, and sisters-in-law Donna Norton and Suzanne Norton. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Donald, Thomas and James Norton. A public viewing will be held at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, PA from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2022. A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 251 East Main Street, Dallastown, PA 17313 at noon on Monday, June 27, 2022. Interment will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, PA 17402 with the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
