George J. Junas

SPRING GARDEN TOWNSHIP- George J. Junas, 93, of York, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Julia M. (Dambrauskas) Junas. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Services will be held privately at a later date. Mr. Junas was born in Philadelphia on April 25, 1915, a son of the late George and Julia Junas. He retired as a truck driver for Acme Markets in Philadelphia, where he was a member of the Teamsters Union. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Junas leaves two daughters: Barbara M. Ford of Drexel Hill and Connie Koontz of York; two grandchildren: James J. Koontz, Jr. of Mt. Joy and Kristine Koontz-Toyer of Harrisburg; and three great grandchildren: Tyler James Koontz, Mary Katharine Koontz, and Julia Grace Toyer.
