George D. Sharp, Jr.

DOVER- George D. Sharp, Jr., 81, died on Monday, January 2, 2023 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, North. He was the husband of Cindy L. (Rehmeyer) Sharp to whom he was married 56 years.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.

Born on April 28, 1941 in York, he was a son of the late George D. and Mary E. (Gobrecth) Sharp, Sr. He was a 1959 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. George was a Machinist for General Machine Works in York for 45 years.

Mr. Sharp served our country in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, square dancing, camping and socializing. George was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Penn State football fan.

Along with his wife, Cindy, George is survived by his son, David Sharp and his wife, Lisa of Charlottesville, VA; daughter, Veronica Kell and her husband, Andrew of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Sharp and Ethan Sharp; two brothers, Leon Sharp of York and Melvin Sharp and his wife, Donna of Dover; and his two beloved cats, Frankie and Sophie.
