York, PA—Frank Morretta, 85, formerly of Staten Island, New York, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at York Hospital. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., at St. Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx, New York. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Morretta was born March 30, 1922 in Italy, a son of the late Sabato and Sarah (Zappile) Morretta. He was employed with the Fire Department of New York City as a Battalion Chief for 25 years until his retirement in 1975. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member the Outdoor Country Club in York. Mr. Morretta is survived by his two sons, Robert B. Morretta of Portland, OR, and Richard F. Morretta of Ridgefield, Conn., 2 grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
