LINDEN - Francis Leroy “Fran” Howlett, 79, formerly of Williamsport, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1933 in Williamsport and was the son of the late William Grant and Neva Clarissa (Wright) Howlett. Francis had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former employee of Williamsport Wood Products, and was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Keystone League. Francis is survived by two sons; Jeff Howlett of Texas and Jack Howlett of Williamsport, several grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law; Virginia and William Swinehart of Williamsport and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife; Beverly (Erb), his second wife; Marilyn J. “Joanie” (Laylon), one son; Francis L. Howlett, Jr. and three brothers; Jim, Joseph “Max” and Leonard Howlett. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen and Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
