Evelyn R. (Parr) Irwin

York—Evelyn R. (Parr) Irwin, 91, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services-North. She was the wife of the late Admiral D. “Hon” Irwin, Jr., with whom she was married for 67 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with the Rev. Robert S. Tomes officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born June 29, 1921 in Felton, she was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Mary G. (Adams) Parr. She was employed with Dentsply as an Inspector for many years until her retirement. After retiring she worked part-time at Weis Markets and co-owned Hon & Eve’s Antiques in Thomasville with her husband. She was also was a member of First Assembly of God. Mrs. Irwin is survived by one son, Edward E. Irwin of Las Vegas, NV; 2 grandsons; 2 great granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
