Eugene J. Jonosky

YORK- Eugene Joseph Jonosky, 97, was the husband of Doris Mae (Pergler) Jonosky with whom he celebrated 73 wonderful loving years. Eugene passed away on November 20, 2025 at York North. Eugene was born February 13, 1928 in Harrison, New Jersey, the son of the late John and Mary Anna (Kapriel) Jonosky.

Eugene was the youngest of 10 children and was raised by his brother Joseph in Glenbrook, Connecticut. Eugene served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in home port of Naples, Italy.

Eugene was employed by AMF in Greenwich Connecticut and was transferred to York, PA. He was a design engineer supervisor for many of AMF projects. After serving many years with AMF he left and was employed by M&M MARS in Elizabethtown, PA as Project Engineer.

Eugene went on to marry his one and only love Doris Pregler. They were married on September 10, 1949 at the Springdale Methodist Church in Springdale, Connecticut.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Carol Clinton and her husband Jeffery Clinton and his son, Wayne and his wife Lulis. Eugene is also survived by his adoring granddaughter Carrie Olszyk (Clinton) and his grandson Andrew Clinton and his husband, James McAuley

Eugene was an active member of Eastminister Presbyterian Church having served on many activities in the church.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with Certified Celebrant Allison Duke officiating and full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the start of the service. A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
