Esther Cora (Deyarmin) Forgach, 91, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025. She was the wife of the late John E. Forgach.
Mrs. Forgach was born on April 27, 1934 in Brush Valley, Indiana County; a daughter of the late J. Earl and Effie Irene (Hill) Deyarmin. She was a 1952 graduate of United Joint High School in Brush Valley. Esther’s professional journey began at the former Ames Department Store and continued at Murphy Mart and ultimately retired from Foodland in Pittsburgh, where her dedication and work ethic were well-regarded. A remarkable woman, Esther exemplified the spirit of resilience as she courageously raised her three children as a single mother, navigating the challenges of life with grace and determination.
Mrs. Forgach is survived by three daughters, twin daughters Eleanor M. and husband Philip Clark of Ellicott City, MD and Jane C. and husband Wayne Kimmel of Glen Burnie, MD, and Dolly F. and husband Dale Wheeler of York; a stepdaughter, Susan and husband Steve Tishler of Paris, France; and a stepson, John F. Forgach of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Melanie, Christopher, Erin, Timothy, Greg, Brenda, and Abigail; seven great grandchildren, Caleb, Alexis, Clara, Jack, Elle, Joseph, and Franklin; and a brother, Carl Deyarmin of Williamson, GA. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Tribute services will be held privately at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with her granddaughter, Pastor Erin Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.
