Ellen E. (Piatt) Vetenko

YORK - Ellen E. [Piatt] Vetenko, 97, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Manor Care - North. She was the wife of the late Howard J. Vetenko. Private funeral services and burial will be held at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born October 5, 1910 in Salina, PA a daughter of the late Eugene W. and Sarah M. [Erb] Piatt, she worked as a registered nurse. She was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army Nursing Corps for seven years. Mrs. Vetenko is survived by a daughter, Sue Ellen Vetenko of York; 10 step grandchildren; four sisters, Maude Geary, Betty Lowery, and Rebecca Gray all of Harvey's Lake, PA and Alma Husted of Reston, VA; and a son in law, Dennis L. Scheivert of York. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah R. Scheivert.
