Eleanor (Diehl) Yeakel

Eleanor (Diehl) Yeakel, 91, of Red Lion, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Yeakel to whom she was married for over 65 years before his passing in 2021.

Born November 26, 1934 in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Raymond A. and Olive E. (Greene) Diehl. Mrs. Yeakel was a member of the Winterstown United Methodist Church for 60 years. For most of her adult life, she was a caring wife to her husband, and loving mother to her children. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word and she built her life around caring for others. Her family remembers her as always putting others before herself, endlessly giving, and loving those around her, shown through quiet sacrifices.

Surviving are her two children, Larry S. Yeakel and Patricia Y. Waltimyer and her husband, Michael L.; four grandchildren, Zachary Yeakel, Jedadiah Bortz and his wife, Morgan, Alyssa Grove and her husband, Ethan, and Kacie Smith and her husband, Briar; five great-grandchildren, Alaina Grove, Barrett Grove, Penelope Bortz, Weston Bortz, and Adley Smith; a sister, Mildred Yeakel and her husband, Rodney; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; two brothers, Allen and Wayne Diehl; as well as her parents.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., Red Lion, is honored to serve the family.
