Dr. Russell E. Grove, Jr.

YORK – Dr. Russell E. Grove, Jr., 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Country Meadows of Leader Heights. He was the loving husband of Pamala C. (Craley) Grove and the couple shared 56 years marriage.

A Celebration of Dr. Grove’s life will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Prior to the service there will be a visitation from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM.

Born June 27, 1946 in York, Dr. Grove was a son of the late Dr. Russell E. Grove, Sr. and Mae (Cuthrell) Grove. After graduating from York Country Day School, he went on to study at Catawba in North Carolina, and at York College. He then received his professional training from Salus University. Dr. Grove was a Board-Certified Doctor of Optometry, specializing in contact lenses. He served the York County community for 50 years in his Leader Heights office. Dr. Grove also loved spending time at the Country Club of York, going to the gym, reading, traveling, and beach get aways to Rehoboth Beach.

In addition to his beloved wife, Dr. Grove is survived by a brother, Alan M. Grove and his late wife Beverly Grove of York; a sister, Lynne Grove and her husband Scott Smith of Marstons Mills, MA; a sister-in-law, Josie Hurlock of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
