Dr. Russel Etter

YORK- Dr. Russel H. Etter, 85, of York Township, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Linda L. Feeser Etter. The couple had celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2023. He was preceded in death by his first wife Suzanne Etter, his son, Douglas Etter, and siblings Mary, Ruth, and Jack.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.

Dr. Etter was born in New Holland, PA on December 5, 1938, the son of the late Russel and Louisa “Kathryn” (Miller) Etter. He retired in 2018 as a Medical Doctor from his family practice.

He was a member of Aldersgate Church in York and a train and horse enthusiast.

Dr. Etter leaves a daughter, Karen M. Etter of York; a son, David A. Etter and his wife Shannon of York; five grandchildren, Derek Etter, Carolyn McGough, Robert McGough, Brandon Wivagg, and Connor Wivagg; two sisters, Anna Hillegass-Wright and Grace Stutz; as well as Linda’s daughters, Michelle McGough and her husband Charles of Hanover and Lisa Wivagg and her husband Kevin of York.
