Listen to Obituary

YORK- Dr. James David “Jimmy I” Isett, D.M.D., passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on February 23, 1971 in York, he was the son of Dr. James M. Isett of Red Lion and the late Janet (Monihen) Isett. Jimmy grew up in Red Lion where he made friends that lasted a lifetime.

Dr. Isett graduated from the accelerated University of Pittsburgh joint degree program, earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry and his dental degree in seven years. Always making friends, he was an undergraduate member of Delta Tau Delta and a member of the dental fraternity Delta Sigma Delta.

Jim lived by his motto, “Work hard, play hard.” He graduated with honors and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. He completed his general dentistry residency at Johns Hopkins University. He selected The Ohio State University for his endodontic residency and master's degree. He always said, Ohio State won more games in 18 months than Pitt did in seven years.

Jimmy was passionate about his practice and patients, working up to the last day possible in July.

He loved great food and wine, traveling, golfing, skiing - and he did a lot of all of it, usually surrounded by family and a group of friends. Jim was passionate about music, was a founding member of Flu-Like-Symptoms, and was always up for a live show. Without a doubt, Jim’s greatest passion and accomplishment was being Chloe’s dad. His energy, enthusiasm and easy spirit in all things will be missed.

Jimmy, it was a great run. We will miss you so very much.

Jimmy is survived by his life partner, Alexandra Chiaruttini; daughter, Chloe Isett of York; two sisters, Dr. Laurie Isett Wise and her husband, Dale of Seven Valleys and Nancy L. Palandro and her husband, Phil of Smithfield, VA; nieces and nephews, Brenna Roche’ (Mike), Matthew Palandro (Leidy), Dalton Wise (Holly), Maura Palandro (Corey) and Darin Wise (Laney); and great nieces and nephews, Lucia, Brynnlee, Isla, Christopher, Cristian, Cruz and Mia.
