Dorothy H. Winter

DOVER—Dorothy H. (Brooks) Winter, 76, passed away Monday, September 08, 2025 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Ralph E. Winter to whom she was married for 54 years.

Born June 12, 1949 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Bankert) Brooks.

A dedicated and loving homemaker to her husband and family, she enjoyed spending time cooking, baking and tending to her flower gardens.

She was also a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in York.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Winter is also survived by one daughter, Annette M. Julius and her husband, Robert; one son, Todd P. Winter and his fiancée, Sam Grim; six grandchildren, Samuel, Andrew, Adalyn, Aiden, Haley and Matthew and her loyal canine companion, Rusty.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00PM, Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Keith Fair. A viewing will be held from 2:00 – 3:00PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital – Philadelphia, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
