Troy - Dorothy B. Eighmey, Age 93, formerly of 220 High Street Troy, PA passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Dorothy was born January 24, 1916 in Coryland, PA daughter of the late Lewis and Bertha (Benson) Brown. She was a graduate of Troy High School and received her teaching degree from Mansfield Teachers College. She and Verle L. Eighmey were married December 26, 1940 and celebrated sixty-three years of marriage prior to his passing on May 25, 2004. Dorothy was retired from the Troy Area School District where she taught school for 32 ½ years and from the Martha Lloyd Home where she also taught students. Her memberships included the First United Methodist Church of Troy, Thursday Study Club, Bridge Club, Troy Area Teachers Association and Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family and her many friends. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 3 PM Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Troy, 205 Redington Avenue, Troy, PA. Dorothy's service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 3 PM, Sunday with Reverend Richard Noggle officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Bruce McClintock of Pittsburgh, PA and Julie and Bill Leffler of Troy, PA, a brother and sister-in-law, Rexford and Freida Brown of Wellsboro, PA, sister-in-law, Norma Brown of Coryland, PA, her adoring grandchildren, David and Sarah McClintock, Marta and Patrick McClintock-Comeaux, Kristin and Shane LeBeau, Katie and Brian Heitman, Lauren, Karen and Matthew McClintock and Billy, Amy Leffler, great-grandchildren, Marly and Ridge McClintock, Carter, Tyler and Trevor McClintock-Comeaux and Braden LeBeau, several nieces and nephews and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, husband Verle L. Eighmey, a brother Corey Brown and grandson Todd McClintock. Memorials are directed to the First United Methodist Church, 205 Redington Ave. Troy, PA 16947 or to the Troy Area School District Foundation, 310 Elmira St. Troy PA 16947.
