Doreen E. Shearer

YORK--Doreen E. (Hopkins) Shearer, 94, passed away September 13, 2022 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lloyd E. Shearer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30PM Monday, September 19, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dr. Eddie Miller. A visitation will be held from 12:30PM-1:30PM Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Born March 24, 1928 in Chicheley, England, she was a daughter of the late Frank J. and Eva F. (Adams) Hopkins.

She was a devoted and caring homemaker, who loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Shearer was also a member of the Cosmopolitan Club of York.

Mrs. Shearer is survived by two sons, Gary E. Shearer and wife, Kathy of E. Berlin and Rodney L. Shearer and wife, Patricia of Spring Grove; two daughters, Jacqueline F. Harlacker and husband, Donald of Dover and Diane E. Kern and husband, Clifford of Dover; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Plummer.
