Red Lion—Donald R. Taylor Jr., 71, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Hospice & Community Care—Mt. Joy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
Born June 13, 1951 in York, he was a son of the late Donald R. Taylor Sr., and Genevieve E. (Dill) Taylor.
He was employed with Ehrhart Stained Glass Inc., where he repaired, restored and installed stained glass windows for churches, businesses and residential customers.
An avid outdoorsman and hunter, he was also a skilled primitive arrow and bow maker. A pure woodsman, he would spend hours hunting arrowheads and ancient artifacts, a lot of which he used to make jewelry and arrows. Donald was dedicated participant in French & Indian War Reenactment. He was a good artist, who enjoyed painting, sketching and blacksmithing. He was a soft-spoken old soul and a kind man who would help anyone.
Mr. Taylor is survived by three daughters, Wenona Taylor, Samantha Lyle and Lori Taylor; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Gwen Smith and Deborah Witmer and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care—Mt. Joy, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, Pa 17552.
