Dolores May (Miller) Lieberknecht

Dolores M. (Miller) Lieberknecht, 97, of York, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Dallastown Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Luther G. Lieberknecht to whom she was married for 67 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Pastor Wesley Bunting officiating. A live stream of the service will also be available to watch on our website at HeffnerCare.com. A viewing will be held from 12:00 – 1:00PM. Burial will be at Machpelah Cemetery.

Dolores was born in York on February 19, 1929, daughter of the late Chester L. and Ruth M. (Schroll) Miller. She was a devoted member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, where she actively participated in the Women’s Missionary Society. She was also a proud member of the York County Society of Farm Women.

Dolores found great joy in cooking and baking for her family and friends, always making sure they never left hungry. She enjoyed cleaning, sewing, and family gatherings. She especially loved singing her favorite hymns and opening her home for Church class meetings. Dolores also had a fondness for flowers and a special appreciation for the color purple.

Mrs. Lieberknecht is survived by her son, Bill G. and wife Linda Lieberknecht of Dover; daughter, Joyce A. and husband Vernon Sanger of Manchester; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; her brother, James L. Miller of Lititz; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Mae Bush and Margaret L. Miller; and her grandson, William G. Lieberknecht, Jr.
