Diane Kay Koons

YORK – Diane Kay (Householder) Koons, 70, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Darrell E. Koons to whom she was married for 28 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 25, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with her pastor, The Rev. Luke Harbaugh officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. In keeping with Diane’s spirit, the family wishes for attendees to dress in colorful clothing for her Tribute Service.

Born July 22, 1953 in York, a daughter of the late Melvin and Doris (Harkins) Householder, she was a 1971 graduate of Northeastern High School. Diane loved quilting and was a member of the York Quilter’s Guild. She was also a member of the Lunch Bunch book club and attended Spry Church.

In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by a son, Ryan A. McAfee of Lewisberry; a stepson, Jarrod W. and wife Tammie Koons of San Antonio, TX; a stepdaughter, Michelle B. and husband Wesley James of Decatur, GA; a granddaughter, Caylee McAfee; three step granddaughters, Ansley and Meghan James, and Kayla and husband Alejandro Anguiano; and two sisters, Barbara A. and husband Gregory Coeyman of Red Lion and Rochelle and husband Mark Fetrow of York.
