Dennis L. Deitz, Jr., 76, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at York Hospital following a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Canadochly Cemetery.
Denny was born on April 22, 1949, in York, a son of the late Virginia (Rittenhouse) and Dennis L. Deitz, Sr. He was a 1967 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and briefly attended Penn State University before being drafted into the US Army during The Vietnam War. Following his military service, he returned to York and graduated from York College of PA. Denny then began his career at York International where he was a Product Service Manager for over 40 years until his retirement from its successor, Johnson Controls. Denny was a member of the Prince Athletic Assoc., Grandview Golf Course, 25 Yr. Club at York Intl., and WFPL. He enjoyed gardening, until his retirement, at which point he became obsessed with his golf game; and loved collecting everything and anything.
Mr. Deitz is survived by a brother, Ronald E. and wife Michele Deitz of York; three sisters, Darlene L. and husband George Schardt and Nancy A. and husband John Shoff both of York, Beth H. and husband Justin Retallack of Wrightsville; five nieces and nephews, Danny, Kevin, Casey, Jodie, and Stephanie; and eight great nieces and nephews.
