YORK- Del F. Mummert, 92 of Spring Garden Township, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Joyce “JB” (Barton) Mummert.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church of Spry, 2385 S. Queen Street in York, with a visitation from 10:30-11 a.m. Pastor Vanessa Storlie will be officiating at the service. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. Mummert was born in York on April 12, 1933, the son of the late Winfield Taft Mummert and Ruth (Slonaker) Mummert-Eppley. He was a 1951 graduate of West York High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lycoming College in 1961. Following high school graduation, he served four years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Motor Freight Express, Miller and Miller Accounting Firm, was controller at Graham Engineering, and worked at Brooks Shoe in Hanover. He acquired and managed Pennsylvania Stone Products. After a brief retirement, in 1997, he became a licensed real estate agent and investor, as well as part owner of Crystal Clean Laundromat.
Mr. Mummert was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Spry where he served on the church council for many years as church council president, treasurer, and member of the finance committee. He was active in after church socials, Strawberry Festivals and cooking and serving Lenten breakfasts. He was a member of National Association of Accountants, York Sertoma Club, York Rotary Club North, West York VFW, Shiloh American Legion, Viking Athletic Association, Realtor’s Association of York and Adam’s Counties, as well as National Association of Realtors. He enjoyed riding horses and his motorcycle, playing bridge, grilling and steaming crabs, working in the garden, and socializing with family and friends.
Mr. Mummert leaves three daughters, Kimberly Figdore, Cynthia Saylor and her husband John, and Julianne Ramp and her husband Dan; three grandchildren, Nicole Figdore, Bobby Bailey, Matthew Saylor and his wife Jessica; two great grandchildren, Jayden Figdore and Kamdyn Grace Saylor; as well as two brothers, Ray and Paul Mummert. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harlan Mummert.
