Deepak Kapoor, 78, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and someone whose warmth touched everyone who knew him.

Born on June 2, 1947, in Fazilka, India, Deepak was the son of the late Des Raj Kapur and Satya Vati (Wadera) Kapur. He came to the United States in 1971, built a life rooted in hard work and curiosity, and earned his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Over the years, he worked as an electrical engineer with Honeywell, Amp, and Souriau, and also shared his love of learning as a professor of math and science at York College.

But one of the brightest parts of Deepak’s life was music. He wasn’t just someone who enjoyed singing, he was an accomplished vocalist with a rich, heartfelt voice that filled every room he entered. Whether he was singing old Bollywood classics at family gatherings or simply humming around the house, music was his way of expressing joy, love, and connection. His songs are a cherished part of the family’s memories.

Deepak is survived by his wife, Rekha Kapoor; his daughter and son-in-law, Ritu and Vikram Krishnasetty; his son and daughter-in-law, Rajdeep and Ritika Kapoor; and his five beloved grandchildren—Maya, Alina, Jai, Riyan, and Rai. He also leaves behind a large extended family, including his sisters and brother-in-law, Saroj Khanna (Sardari Khanna) and Shyam Gulati as well as his adored nieces, Nipon and Seema, all of whom will continue to carry his love and spirit forward.
