In Loving Memory of Deborah M. (Burdette) Buck
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Deborah (Deb) M. Buck who left this world on Sunday, February 8, 2026, surrounded by love and family.
Born on April 14, 1952 in her home and delivered by her father in York. She was a 1970 graduate of Central York High School. Deb lived a life rooted in courage, strength, laughter and unwavering devotion to her family.
A devoted wife/mother/grandmother/sister/friend, she found her greatest joy in caring for others. Her laughter could brighten a room. Her home was always open, the table always full, and laughter was never in short supply. She believed that life was meant to be shared, celebrated, and lived together. Deb had a special gift for loving her family and she loved to travel the world. Family gatherings, holidays, and everyday moments were made richer simply because she was there.
Deb spent most of her working life with Your Place Restaurants (York and Mechanicsburg) for 25 years and Delta Dental for 17 years before retiring in 2022. She enjoyed traveling before and after retirement and her favorite place to visit was Tanzania. Deb enjoyed volunteering with Echo Dog White Shepherd Rescue.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lewis A. Buck, her children, Shonna S. Cardello, Scott A. Stock and Christopher M. Stock and wife Stephanie M. Stock. She is also survived by the five loves she had the pleasure to call her grandchildren, Tyler W. Stock, Emily D. Stock, Ava G. Stock, Cassidy M. Stock and Delaney M. Stock as well as her sister, Joan Fink. Deb is also survived by the father of her children, William D. Stock, Jr. and sisters-in-law, Beverly A. Wolf, Karen L. Miller, Arvena Cline and Cheryl Keller. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. We will all carry her love forward in everything we do. She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Burdette, Sr. and Ada P. Burdette, her brothers, William C. Burdette, Jr., James T. Burdette, Clyde E. Burdette, Robert H. Burdette, Jackson G. Burdette, Michael L. Burdette and her sister Suzan G. Fink. We find comfort knowing she is reunited with those she loved who went before her.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are forever changed by her love. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the morals and values she instilled, the and the countless memories we will hold close.
A Celebration of Deb’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA 17408. Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 5-7:00 PM and Thursday from 10-11:00 AM at the Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Community Care, American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue.
She was deeply loved, and she will be profoundly missed—today and always.
