RED LION – Dean Yeagle Markel, 77, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at Rest Haven – York. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Red Lion Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born September 14, 1936 in Chanceford Twp., a son of the late Samuel Z. and Mary A. (Gohn) Markel, he retired from Tate Access Floors. Yeagle was a member of Red Lion Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and a former member of Red Lion VFW and the Foresters of America in Columbia. Mr. Markel is survived by a sister, Erma McDonald of York; nine nieces; and eight nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clair, Walter, Kenneth, and Ray Markel; eight sisters, Elaine Barnhart, Violet Miller, Velma Myers, Esther Robinson, Minnie Runkle, Charlotte Leiphart, Janet Lutz, and Betty Anderson; and two nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Patient Help Fund, c/o York Foundation, 50 N. Duke St., 2nd Fl., York, PA 17401. Cemetery: 11:00 AM Graveside service on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
