David L. Bankes

HARRISBURG- David L. Bankes, 57, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Harrisburg Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Emmanuel Cemetery in Lewisberry with Pastor Alan Echard officiating. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, is in charge of arrangements. Born on April 17, 1955 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Clarence L. and Mary P. (Dopp) Bankes. David worked as a Custodian for Overnight Transportation. Mr. Bankes was a sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching football. David was a great father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Bankes is survived by one daughter, Diane “Dee Dee’ Bankes of Harrisburg; one grandson, Kumar Ramaiah; three brothers, Charles Bankes and his wife, Diane M. of Ephrata, James Bankes and his wife Jacqueline of Mechanicsburg and Clarence Bankes, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Camp Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna L. Quaca. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N Colonial Ave, York, PA 17403.
