Darryl C. Nicholas

YORK - Darryl C. Nicholas of York, formerly of Millersville, 86 passed peacefully July 31, 2026 at Pappus House surrounded by his loving family. Darryl was the loving husband of Faye (Weaver) Nicholas and the couple would have shared 45 years of marriage this October.

He was born June 16, 1939 to the late Nicholas and Ruth (Dumford) Couchot in Dayton, Ohio where he grew up.

He graduated John Patterson High School in 1957 and served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961 as a nuclear weapon specialist. After discharge he worked various sales jobs. In 1981 he started Crystal Photographic Services in Millersville with Faye and then colorBAT Computer repairs and upgrades. He photographed weddings and preschools for many years. Also he was an adjunct instructor with HACC and YTI. In his later years, he continued to build and repair computers.

A 32 nd degree Mason for 60 years Millennium Lodge Dayton and Millersville PA Lodge. And a member of Scottish Rite Dayton and a Shreiner.

He will be remembered for his story telling, sense of humor and love of family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Star (Kevin) Downey of Petaluma CA; son Kris (Eileen) Nicholas of Hepzibah GA; and daughter Kristina (Gregg) Gorham York PA; grandchildren, Sierra, Emerald, Daniel, Christopher, Daniel, Bryce, and Brock; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rae Ellzey.
