Dareen A. Angel

Dareen A. (Mickley) Angel, 93, of York, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Charles R. "Mike" Angel.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with her pastor, The Rev. Tanya L.H. Brubaker officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Angel was born on February 17, 1932 in Thomasville, a daughter of the late J. Earl and Nellie L. (Altland) Mickley. She was a 1950 graduate of West York Area High School. As a young adult, Dareen had worked at York Radio & Refrigeration Parts, Stewart & March, Inc., and York Corrugating. Over the years, Dareen was a member of Christian Women’s Club of York, September House and Yorktowne Senior Centers, and Calvary Methodist Church. She had served as a senior companion at SpiriTrust Lutheran for 15 years. Dareen also enjoyed reading and completing Word Finds.

Mrs. Angel is survived by a daughter, Kim L. Schmuck of York; a grandson, Chad and wife Olivia Schmuck of North Carolina; and a great granddaughter Emma Grace Schmuck. She was preceded in death by a sister, Glendora Henry; and a brother, Keith Mickley.
