Dale R. Gordon

Dale R. Gordon, 97, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Rest Haven – York. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. (Manning) Gordon to whom he was married for 61 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Monday August 18, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Tanya Brubaker. Viewings will be held from 4:00 – 6:00PM, Sunday August 17, 2025 and from 10:00 – 11:00AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born May 21, 1928 in York, he was the son of the late Howard M. and Elsie C. (Ely) Gordon.

He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.

A dedicated employee, he worked for Parts Depot for 35 years as a truck driver and inventory supply until his retirement in 2022.

Mr. Gordon is survived by fours sons, Gregory Gordon and his wife, Tammy of York, Richard Gordon of Hanover, Michael Gordon and his wife, Diane of Lancaster and Donald Gordon and his wife, Patricia of York; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Clair Gordon and Larry Gordon; three sisters, Clella Waltz, Stella Lloyd and Gloria Dettinger and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Christiansen; four siblings, Harold Gordon, Eleanor Hake, Shirley Gordon and Dorothy Crumling and one son-in-law, Steven Christiansen.
