YORK – Curtis M. Winters, 78, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of Beth A. (Workinger) Winters to whom he was married for 56 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2025 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35, Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, The Rev. Doug Royer officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Harmony Presbyterian Cemetery with full military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Curt’s Tribute Service will be webcast on his obituary page at www.HeffnerCare.com.
Curt was born on September 26, 1946 in York, a son of the late Leon Winters and Mary G. (Mummert) Garrett. After high school he proudly enlisted and served honorably in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Curt worked 40 years at York International until his retirement. During retirement, Curt enjoyed driving school bus for Red Lion Bus Co. Never one to sit still, he could be found utilizing his mechanical inclination in his small engine and lawn mower repair business. He also enjoyed volunteering his handyman skills to assist family, friends, and neighbors. Curt loved spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, cooking, watching NASCAR, and going out for breakfast. Curt was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, Curt is survived by three daughters, Michele R. Winters and her partner Rachelle Frazao of Baltimore, Melissa J. Warren of Etters, and Holly A. and husband Scott R. Wolfe of New Cumberland; four grandchildren, Colden Warren, Kora Wolfe, Corinne Warren, and Gabriel Wolfe; a brother, John Garrett of Manchester; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law; and his beloved Shishon “Benji”. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Howell and Lila Johnson.
