RED LION- Curtis Wayne Hughlett, Sr., 78, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Naomi M. (Moore) Hughlett. The couple planned to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on November 4th.
Curtis was born on October 10, 1947 in Great Falls, MT. He was a well-known tailor, entrepreneur and licensed minister over the years.
Mr. Hughlett was a member of Father’s House Ministries International. In his younger years, Curtis was a horse racing jockey. He enjoyed baking cakes and pies, helping people especially the elderly, helping his wife with her cleaning business and dancing through the grocery stores.
Along with his wife, Naomi, Curtis is survived by his step son, Phillip Matarese and his wife, Jane of Fort Wayne, IN; step daughter, Rebecca Matarese of Dallastown; step grandson, Clayton Matarese-Burns; sister, Lawaine Soukup of Amarillo, TX; and two step brothers, James Coleman of Wichita Falls, TX and Gary Coleman of Armadillo, TX. He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Hughlett, Jr.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Well Family Life Center, 155 S. Hartley St., York, Pa 17401 with Apostle Howard Dissinger officiating. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Father’s House Ministries International at fhmi.org or Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center at hospiceandcommunitycare.org in Curtis’ memory.
