Clyde E. Rohrbaugh, Jr., 77, of York, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Kingston Court Nursing & Rehab. He was the husband of Jane (Miller) Rohrbaugh with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on April 15, 2026.
"Ed," as he was known to friends and family, was born on January 22, 1949 in York, a son of the late Jessie (Lester) Baker and Clyde E. Rohrbaugh, Sr. He enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, where he served as a cook for more than four years, spending two and a half years at sea. He experienced many exciting new things during this time, even surviving a shipwreck off the coast of Rhodes, Greece. Following his military service, he worked in the printing industry and spent most of his career with Standard Register Co.
In his younger years, Ed enjoyed playing racquetball and tennis, hunting in York and Potter counties, following the Cal Ripken-era Orioles, playing pinochle and 500 bid, woodworking, and listening to classic country music. He was a muscle car enthusiast, and relished his time behind the wheel of his brand new '70 Nova SS, and later his ’69 GTO. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended Red Lion Kingdom Hall, as well as being a member of East Prospect Fish & Game Club. He will be remembered for his love for his children and grandchildren, his love of animals, especially his cat, his work ethic, kindness, and unstoppable sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Jane, Ed is survived by a daughter, Paula J. McNab, of Brookfield, WI; a son, Max E. Rohrbaugh, and his wife, Rachel Grove Rohrbaugh, of Camp Hill; four grandchildren, Aubrey McNab, Iris, Ruth, and Isaac Rohrbaugh; and his half-brother, Jerry Baker, of York. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Red Lion Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 395 Boxwood Rd., Red Lion. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
