Listen to Obituary

YORK- Charlotte I. (Druck) Bachtell, 88, died on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard E. “Dick” Bachtell, Jr. who died on April 17, 2018. The couple had been married for 64 years. The couple met as teenagers and Dick was a wonderful husband who always took care of Charlotte’s needs first.

A private graveside service will be held at Stony Brook Mennonite Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born on October 21, 1936 in Starview, she was a daughter of the late Stewart S. and Charlotte M. (Cummings) Druck, Sr. Charlotte was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bachtell was an avid bird watcher and loved to feed the squirrels and watch them from her family room. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and loved sports especially NASCAR and bull riding. Most importantly, she loved taking care of her daughters, granddaughter and great granddaughter and was proud of all of their achievements. One makes their own happiness by taking care of the happiness of others and faith makes things possible though not always easy.

Charlotte is survived by her two daughters, Ginnie M. Blakemore of York and Sandy Yancey and her husband, Bob of Red Lion; granddaughter, Nichole Warman and her husband, Nick of York; great granddaughter, Liliana Warman; sister, Doris Chronister of Etters; and two sisters in law, Carol Druck and Lynn Druck. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam S. Druck and Rickey L. Druck.
