Charles W. Robson

Charles W. “Robbie” Robson, 88, of York, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Viola M. (Woodring) Robson to whom he was married for 66 years.

Born September 2, 1938 in York, he was the son of the late William H. Robson and Edna M. (Sheely) Robson. He was a graduate of North York High School. He spent most of his working life as a maintenance worker at GTE, where he dedicated nearly 40 years of hard work before retiring. Beyond his career, he served the Red Lion community as a volunteer fire police officer. His family remembers him as a natural handyman who could fix just about anything, from mechanical repairs to home improvement projects. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, photography, and, in his younger years, playing the piano.

In addition to his beloved wife, Viola, he is survived by four children, Raymond H. Robson, William J. “Bill” Robson (Melody), Carol L. Kennedy, and Laurie A. Culp; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a son-in-law, Jonathan M. Kennedy.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York, is honored to serve the family.
