RED LION - Chad A. Simpson, 49, passed away July 1, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of Tara N. (Waltemyer) Simpson to whom he was married for 7 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Red Lion American Legion Post 543, 23 East Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356. Burial at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.
Born August 13, 1975 in Brogue, he was a son of Michael C. and Darla K. (Fisher) Simpson. Chad graduated from Red Lion Area High School in 1993. He started his career with DE Gemmil and moved onto Kratos (formerly Gicheners), where he recently celebrated 20 years of employment. Outside of his work life, he enjoyed cars immensely, becoming an avid fan of NASCAR.
We lost a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and friend. Anyone who knew Chad knew that he had a heart of gold and would lend an ear or hand to anyone who needed it. He was generous to a fault and would give the shirt off his back to help his family and friends.
Throughout his life, Chad made many friends. His easy smile and friendly demeanor made it impossible not to like him. He was the one that showed up when it mattered. Even if he couldn’t physically help, he’d find a way to elicit a laugh. With that sparkle in his eyes and mischievous grin, he’d crack a joke to make that moment better.
In addition to his wife, Tara, he is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Darla Simpson of Brogue; a biological son, Jordan Oppel of Berwick; two stepchildren, Cameron Burke and Lydia Burke at home; a brother, Kirk Simpson and his wife Carolyn of Brogue; two nephews, Emmett Simpson and Tanner McWilliams; and his two best friends, Vanessa Miller and Cara Stough both of Red Lion.
For all who knew him and loved him, please know he will continue to live in our hearts and memories forever.
