YORK - Chad McNaughton, 38, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Eileen [Williams] McNaughton to whom he was married for eight years. Chad loved his wife with his whole heart and he considered their union one of his greatest accomplishments. He spread the love to all of his family, never failing to end a conversation with "I Love You." A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York with his pastors, The Rev. Stanley W. Combs and The Rev. Janyce Jorgensen officiating. A visitation will take place from 11-12:00 PM Saturday at the Church. Eileen stresses that this is a CELEBRATION of Chad's life and requests that black not be worn and Penn State Blue is encouraged. Following cremation, Chad will be returned to his favorite place Corolla in the outer banks of North Carolina. Born July 21, 1969 in Chambersburg, PA, a son of Mick and Sandy (Heagy) McNaughton of Shippensburg, he was a 1987 graduate of Shippensburg High School, where he lettered in wrestling, football, and track, and was coached in football by his hero, his Dad. Chad then graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1991, where he was an exceptional football player, including being a 4-year starter at linebacker, All Conference, nominated All American, and voted MVP his senior year. He was passionate about his work and served as Director of the Mid-Atlantic Region for Bozzuto's, Inc. Chad will be remembered for his huge presence, caring heart, and gentle ways. He was an active and devoted father who coached and cheered his boys through football, soccer, tee-ball, swimming, and wrestling seasons. He had served as an assistant football coach at both Shippensburg and Milton S. Hershey High Schools; and was a life long Penn State fan who loved wings and hot sauce and was known as the "King of the Tailgate." He enjoyed family camping trips at Raystown Lake, was the master of Lego Star Wars, and was never happier than hanging out in his Penn State basement with family and friends. Chad was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife and parents, Chad is survived by two sons, Ian and Cole McNaughton; a brother, Matt McNaughton of Pittsburgh; a sister, Christie and husband Ryan Johnson of Shippensburg; maternal grandmother, Sara Hipple of Middletown; paternal grandfather, Maynard Weldon of New Bloomfield; mother and father in law, Ceil and Tom Williams of Valrico, FL; brother in law, Mark and wife Cori Williams of Coatesville; sister in law, Laura Williams of Valrico; nieces, Gracie and Claire Johnson; and nephews, Jack Johnson and Michael Williams.
