Celia E. Sopko

KINGSTON - Celia E. Sopko, 94, formerly of Plymouth, of Kingston, passed away Sunday evening, February 21, at HCR Manor Care, Kingston. Born in Plymouth on March 13, 1915, Celia was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (O'Berla) Sopko. She was a graduate of Empire Beauty School, where she was also employed for several years as a teacher. Celia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and an officer in the Zivena Society. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Paul and Albert Sopko; and sisters, Helen Heilberger, Anna Janson. She was the last member of her family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 25th at 1:00pm at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be The Reverend Robert F. Sauers. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends are invited to attend the visitation from 12:00pm to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
