FELTON - Carolyn A. (Markel) Garner, 80, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025. She was the loving and devoted wife of Clair M. Garner and the couple shared 62 wonderful years together.
Viewings for Mrs. Garner will be held from 3:00PM - 5:00PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, PA 17356. And 10:00AM-11:00AM on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church (East End) 900 Pleasant Grove Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. With A Celebration of Life at the church beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born March 17, 1945 in York, Mrs. Garner was a daughter of the late Quenton J. and Audrey G. (Kauffman) Markel. Mrs. Garner was a 1963 graduate of Red Lion High School. Early in her career she worked part time at the Red Lion 5 & 10, and later retired from the Red Lion Post Office. Mrs. Garner was a life time member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, and was the Treasurer and a member of the Ladies Aid Society and was on the Council of Ministries. She also was a Sunday School teacher for many years, as well as being active in the Church Youth Group. Mrs. Garner was a Girl Scout Leader, and a Representative for Stanley Home Products. In her free time, Mrs. Garner enjoyed playing in various card clubs, along with spending time with her family and watching sports.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Garner is survived by her four children, Angela Blankenbiller and her husband Douglas, Marlyn Garner and his girlfriend Heather Ewing, Cory Garner and his wife Ginger, and Jennifer Cianfrani and her husband Louis; two grandchildren, Amanda Richart, and Emily Garner; four great grandchildren, Lydia Richart, Maverick Richart, Emma Richart, and Evelyn Richart; a brother, Quenton "Jesse" Markel II and his wife Debra; a sister, Joyce Frey and her husband Mark; and a large extended family.
