YORK-Carole Frances (Danison) Taylor, 83, of Manchester Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at York Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Allen “Herc” Taylor, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2026. Married on July 9, 1960, Carole and Henry shared a remarkable 65-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road in York, with a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Certified Celebrant Allison Duke will officiate.
Born on November 13, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Carole was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Starkey) Danison. A 1960 graduate of Glenford High School in Glenford, Ohio, she went on to build a life and a family that would become her life’s greatest work.
While Henry grew his companies, Carole was the steady foundation that made it all possible. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to supporting her husband and his ventures, to creating a warm and welcoming home, and to raising the couple’s only child, their daughter, Marci. Hers was the quieter, essential partnership behind a great success story, and she took deep and rightful pride in it.
Home was Carole’s canvas. She had a gifted eye for design and a decorator’s touch, and in the couple’s later years she poured her time and talent into the two beautiful estate homes they created, one after another. A wonderful cook and gracious host, she loved nothing more than gathering family and friends around her table — and her scalloped potatoes became the stuff of family legend, a recipe lovingly passed down to her daughter, Marci, for generations to enjoy.
Carole delighted in the people and pastimes she loved. Those who knew her best might be surprised to learn she was an accomplished accordion player. For most of their 65 years together, the Taylor home was rarely without a dog or two to love and raise. She had a sharp — and for her generation, unusually confident — command of technology, and autumn Saturdays found her cheering on her beloved Penn State football team.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia R. Biscoe, and her husband, Richard, of Lititz; and her three cherished grandchildren, Laura, Owen, and Amanda Biscoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herc, and her parents.
