Carl Hyson Daugherty

YORK- Carl Hyson Daugherty, 82, of York Township, died Saturday, December 23, 2023 at UPMC Hospital in Harrisburg. He was the only child of the late Walter and Erma (Hyson) Daugherty.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Ct in York. Pastor Donald Wagner will be officiating at the service. Interment will be private in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery in Felton. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Born June 3, 1941, Carl is survived by numerous first cousins and a second cousin, Ruth Ann Young. He enjoyed playing table top games, games on his cell phone, and various events in York County. He frequently visited the Red Lion Senior Center, Golden Connections, for activities and lunches.

Carl attended high school at William Penn Senior High. He was a graduate of Shippensburg and Rutgers Universities. He was a math teacher at William Penn Senior High School until he retired. Carl attended Church of the Open Door. He often ate lunch and dinner at various York area churches.
