RED LION – Calvin C. Leiphart, 88, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at York Hospital. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. Paul Springvale United Methodist Church, 265 Circle Drive, Red Lion with his pastor, The Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Thursday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Salem Community Cemetery. Born November 4, 1924 in Windsor Twp., a son of the late Charles E. and Elsie (Deckman) Leiphart, he had worked at J.C. Winter Tobacco Co. and later retired from the former Borg-Warner Inc. Calvin was a member of St. Paul Springvale UM Church, a former member of Steam-O-Rama, and was well known for his black walnut cakes and the many pies he baked with Reynold Hall. During his youth, Calvin enjoyed sports and playing baseball in the York County leagues. Mr. Leiphart is survived by a sister, Viola Wilt of Dallastown; his longtime friend Reynold L. Hall of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Charles, and Ervin Leiphart; and three sisters, Esther Laucks, Rosetta Krout, and Gertrude Robinson.
