YORK – Brent M. Stinson, 71, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Linda Stinson.

Born October 6, 1954, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Brent was a son of the late Kenneth and Sarah (Tollenger) Stinson. After graduating from high school, Brent began his career with Caterpillar, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.

Whether it was cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, watching football, or following Caitlin Clark's career, Brent found joy in sports and rarely missed a game. He also looked forward to springtime and the chance to hunt for morel mushrooms. More than anything, he enjoyed life's simple pleasures and the time he spent with family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kind heart, and the many memories he created with those who loved him.

Brent is survived by his children, Chad Stinson and his wife, Tammy, of Cedar Rapids, IA; Cory Stinson and his wife, Kelly Clark, of York, PA; Lisa Raab and her husband, Jon, of York, PA; and his stepson, Chris McMillon, of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tristan Stinson, Tyler Stinson, Gabby Stinson, Taron Stinson, Kaitlyn Raab, Kayla Raab, and Kylie Raab; two step-grandchildren, Vincent and Dylan McMillon; one great-grandchild, Krislyn Stinson; one step-great-grandchild; his sister, Sharon Wangsness of Allison, IA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Brent was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Stinson, and his sister, Brenda Pruter.

In keeping with Brent's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. His family plans to honor his memory next spring by returning his ashes to Iowa and celebrating a life well lived with a trip that includes attending an Indiana Fever game to cheer on Caitlin Clark — a fitting tribute to one of his greatest passions.

Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is honored to serve the family.
