Palm Coast, FL- Brad Lee Kunkel, 64, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Lillie M. (Hardin) Kunkel. The couple celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary last June.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 11 North Richland Ave. in York. Pastor Tanya Brubaker will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York and 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
Brad was born in York on May 15, 1961, the son of R. Lee Kunkel of York and the late Rosalind (Horn) Kunkel. He worked with service and sales in the HVAC industry.
Brad was a member of Bridges United Methodist Fellowship in Bunnell, FL and was formerly a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in York. He was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed hockey, music, and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed “dad” jokes; loved being a grandfather and uncle and always lit up the room with his energy, making people laugh.
Brad leaves two daughters, Shelly Oerman and her son, Nikolai Hill of Orlando, FL; and Dannielle Gordon and her husband Lewis and their children, Addison, Bailey, Lewis, Jr., Lawson, and Cayden of Atlanta; his adoptive daughter, Megan Paul and her children Kinley and Harper; siblings, Robin Kunkel and spouse Ann, Elizabeth Lee Holmes, David Lee Kunkel, Jennifer Lee Kunkel and spouse Ken LaBel; a foster brother, Kosel Suy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his close friend Rodney Lyles of York. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Scott Lee Kunkel, and brothers, Dexter Ray Kunkel and Anthony Lee Kunkel.
