Betty Jane (Ashenfelder) Cooper

LEWISBURG- Betty Jane Cooper, 87, of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village where she had been a resident for the past nine years. Betty was born March 31, 1923 in Muncy, daughter of the late Charles C. and Eva Georgia (Rider) Ashenfelder. Betty graduated from Danville High School, class of 1941. She married the late Paul Faust Cooper on January 19, 1942 at Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, PA. He preceded her in death in 1985. Betty retired from Bucknell University food services. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Charles Robert (Bob) and Penny of New Berlin and Richard and Amy of Lewisburg, and one daughter and her husband, Sylvia and Mark Betzer of Sylvania, PA. Four grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive her. One sister, Dorothy Ida Seidel, and one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Joseph Rosboschil, of Plymouth, predeceased Betty in death. A Celebration of Life service and burial will be conducted Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 10:00 am at Washingtonville Lutheran Church. 14 Strawberry Ridge Road, Washingtonville with the Reverend Melody Sell officiating.
