Bertha J. (Heiland) Markle

FAYETTEVILLE, PA – Bertha J. (Heiland) Markle, 92, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at The Village of Laurel Run, Adams Co. She was the wife of the late Spurgeon E. Markle. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth R.W. Reid officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Pennsylvania Avenue Entrance of the Cemetery at 10:45 AM. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Bertha was born on October 28, 1923 in York a daughter of the late John M. and Cora A. (Trimmer) Heiland. She was a life member of West York VFW and enjoyed walking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Markle is survived by a brother, Gary Heiland of York; a sister, Barbara Gemmill of York; and nieces and nephews.
