DOVER- Benjamin Jacob Markey, 28, of Conewago Township passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of Taylin Marie (Lehman) Markey. The couple celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary on July 2, 2025.

Benjamin was born in York on September 23, 1997, the son of David B. Markey of York and Elizabeth S. (Sipe) Markey of Florida. He currently worked at BAE Systems and was a member of United Steelworkers, local 1688.

Ben was a 2016 graduate of Dallastown High School. He learned his trade of welding from Triangle Tech and during his service in the US Marine Corps, where he obtained the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League. He was an outdoors enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, especially archery, as well as biking, hiking, camping and spending his time in Potter County. He was a loving husband who cherished his family and deeply cared for his friends. He also loved his pets, Rowdy, Ryder, Meeny, and Miney, more than anything.

Along with his wife and parents, he leaves a brother, David B. Markey, II and his fiancé Leeann Halliday of North Carolina; his grandfather, Dale G. Markey, Sr.; as well as his in-laws Patrick and Tina Lehman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Markey and his grandmother, Phyllis Markey.

Services will be private with burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A dedication of his grave marker will be announced in the spring, which will be open to friends and family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is assisting the family with the arrangements.
